My name is Rajnish Bhatia. I go by Raj. I’m responsible for identity and access management at Comcast. I’ve been with the firm for seven years, and I’m responsible for all enterprise B2B, and B2B2C customer identity and access management.
Comcast is a large ecosystem, and it has, you know, multiple companies within its environment. So each of these ecosystems has their own respective user types, such as employees, contractors, business partners, etc.
Who has access to what is the problem statement that we need to solve for each identity type. We have to ensure that only authorized users are able to do approved actions. With Radiant capabilities, we are able to have all of these accesses provisioned in a structured manner and a lot more controlled manner.
Because we are able to get metadata for each individual user, we are able to properly map them to defined roles or attribute-based access or a relationship-based access or a policy-based access, and then identify the set of actions that the user or the action identity can take on a target application.
So this is how we have used the Radiant platform to allow us to have a proper user be provisioned and be able to access the target system, and we are able to remove that user’s access if that user departs from the environment.
Each of these identity types has their own challenges. HR may have information about the user’s basic information about their entity, but may not have information about their roles.
So what Radiant allows us to do is to discover more metadata from multiple data systems and stitch them together to create a customer 360 view that we are able to use to provision in the downstream applications.
