Using a Federated Identity and Directory Service to Simplify Cloud Access and Identity Governance and Administration (IGA)
Cloud applications, such as Salesforce and Microsoft Office 365, work best with an authoritative source of identity data. This presents a challenge in complex environments where users’ identity and credentials are stored in diverse data sources, many of which are hosted on premises. RadiantOne FID, our federated identity and directory service based on virtualization, integrates and rationalizes multiple on-premises and cloud-based identity data sources into a single authoritative source for IGA and synchronizing to Azure AD.
In this important webinar, we discuss the complexities of managing identity in large enterprises with hybrid environments that include on-premises and cloud-based identity data sources. Currently, Microsoft recommends consolidation for enterprises with multiple AD forests and domains to creating a “central” AD where all your accounts have been normalized.
Yet this is easier said than done. There may be users outside of AD—LDAP directories, databases—that need access to the cloud as well.
By consolidating multiple on-premises and cloud-based identity sources, RadiantOne FID secures and simplifies cloud access and identity administration for enterprises with distributed and diverse sources of identities by:
- Creating a single logical place (an identity hub that federates multiple sources) to authenticate a user (SSO) and retrieve profile information (a global view of all attributes and groups) for authorization
- Using this global reference image to provision and administer on-prem and cloud applications
- Saving time by simplifying the management of users and groups (configuration instead of scripting and endless customization)
