Webinar: Using A Federated Identity Service

Because the demands on your IAM system are ever-changing, it’s crucial to know what the IAM architecture of the future will look like. According to leading professional services provider Ernst & Young, it’s an integrated ecosystem that enables companies to serve “anyone, anywhere, anything, anytime.” Their NextGen IAM blueprint includes a reference architecture that would meet the growing needs of all essential constituents, from internal users, business partners/subsidiaries, and customers to the burgeoning Internet of Things.

NextGen IAM defines the path forward for large enterprises grappling with years of identity fragmentation in the face of new demands and opportunities, such as the rise of the cloud, an increasingly mobile workforce, and customers expecting more—and better—from every encounter with a company. This service-oriented architecture includes smart abstraction—a hallmark of Radiant Logic’s federated identity service based on virtualization—over hard-coded point-to-point connections, as well as API-based IAM services. It also includes a thoughtfully-developed ETL strategy that enables better data integration and transformation, which is where Radiant Logic’s Identity Correlation and Synchronization service really shines.

Join us as Sam Tang, Executive Director of EY’s NextGen IAM project, discusses the reference architecture as the key to successful emerging and legacy IAM deployments. And to show you how to get there, Lisa Grady, Solutions Architect with Radiant Logic, will describe how and why an integrated, federated identity service based on virtualization such as RadiantOne FID can play an important role in such an architecture.

Webinar: Identity Virtualization Plays a Key Role in NextGen IAM Architectures

Today’s enterprises are grappling with ways to securely link diverse, distributed identity sources and connect these internal authentication systems with a growing set of cloud applications. Providing secure access to these applications means deploying an Identity Provider (IdP) based on federation standards.

But because most cloud applications expect a single source for identity, this presents the enterprise with some daunting challenges:

  • Unifying diverse data into a common global identity, where every user is represented once and has a complete profile containing attributes from across LDAP, SQL, AD, and web services.
  • Feeding the IdP with the exact views of identity it needs for each individual cloud or SaaS application.

Join us as featured guest Mark Diodati explores how an identity bridge, a federated identity service, can resolve the issues between your existing security infrastructure and your growing cloud portfolio. Then Wade Ellery, Senior Solutions Architect from Radiant Logic, will explain how RadiantOne FID, our federated identity service based on virtualization, works with RadiantOne Cloud Federation Service (CFS) to provide a complete standards-based solution for unifying your identity infrastructure.

Learn how our new features strengthen the security of your IAM system. With RadiantOne, release 7.2, you can now encrypt data at rest, add multi-factor authentication, and protect key accounts with Privileged Identity/Access Management (PIM/PAM) software

Fully Encrypt Data at Rest with HDAP, Radiant’s Groundbreaking Directory Store

With its new attribute encryption functionality, RadiantOne now protects sensitive data while it is stored in HDAP, the RadiantOne Big Data Directory store. Directory administrators can store entries in an encrypted format, preventing confidential attributes from being read while stored in HDAP files, backup files, and exported LDIF files. Encrypting Radiant Logic’s cluster-based directory store ensures FIPS compliance for government agencies.

Easily Add Multi-Factor Authentication to Strengthen Security for New and Existing Apps

RadiantOne 7.2 also now offers support for multi-factor authentication, enabling companies to reinforce security by taking advantage of additional means, such as token cards, certificates, and biometrics. Traditionally, extending security for existing applications has been a difficult and intricate process. While there are many new ways to strengthen security, companies have long struggled with the difficulty of implementing these additional measures, since applications often offer weak authentication but are not programmed to accept additional security. The new plug-in mechanism makes it easy to add multiple external multi-factor authentication modes to existing application making LDAP calls.

Protect Key Accounts with Privileged ID/Access Management Integration

RadiantOne’s new framework for integrating with Privileged Identity/Access Management (PIM/PAM) software now enables it to acquire the needed credentials from an existing PIM/PAM product such as CyberArk and others, adding an additional layer of security for key accounts and enabling better data governance. This helps companies meet compliance regulations and prevent internal data breaches.

  • HDAP actually adds speed as you add nodes. It scales linearly. On average, one node delivers 30,000 queries per sec. A three-node cluster delivers more than 95,000 queries per second and so on. And, you can bring new nodes online in minutes.
  • With the RadiantOne identity virtualization and federation layer, the Big Data Directory acts as a context server, providing a whole new way to store, search, and discover identity information—one that enables you to publish flexible, contextual views of your siloed identity data to secure and power your legacy, web or cloud applications. In addition to LDAP, HDAP supports SQL and ADAP (the REST interface to LDAP).
  • Unlike traditional LDAP directories that slow radically when a search includes unique attributes, HDAP maintains speed and stability when searching for unique and non-unique attributes. By using Lucene technology, RadiantOne lets you index both attributes and values, which enables fast search and updates to your data.

Webinar: Customer Identity Series Part II

The move by companies toward a digitized distribution mode—one that establishes more direct contact with their customers or constituencies—is unstoppable. This shift to digitization is opening new opportunities to extend markets and better serve customers—with less expense and lower risks. But creating a complete digital experience for customers requires a secure and transparent integration of customer information, delivered at high speeds, at the right time and in the right context.

It’s time to take a page from new vendors that leverage that registration process to collect data for a complete customer profile, making security the starting point to serve better customer knowledge, more complete profiles, and the entire marketing and sales lifecycle. After all, any enrichment of the digital experience must be delivered in tandem with the most rigorous levels of security.

Such a transition will need to address a key challenge at the level of the identity infrastructure—integrating customer information across different data silos, translating that data into the appropriate format or protocol for consuming applications, and delivering data at high speeds to enable the most forward-looking security practices and the most fluid user experiences.

Join us for a two-part webinar series on customer identity. In the first, we’ll explore ways to integrate SQL data into a contextually-aware, Big Data-driven LDAP directory, then in the second, we’ll look at customer identity use cases, including ways to build comprehensive customer profiles for a complete digital experience, so you can:

  • Give your customers the info they want—immediately.
  • Deliver a fully personalized experience, complete with targeted promos.
  • Show a unified view to sales and service reps.

The newly announced Microsoft Windows Azure Active Directory (WAAD) gives you the opportunity, at nearly no cost, to host your identities and access the cloud in a secure and user-friendly way. Coupled with Windows Active Directory Federation Service (ADFS) on-premises, it will enable you to streamline SSO for all SaaS applications from Office 365 to SalesForce.

However, it is crucial that you get your identity infrastructure in a form that can be leveraged by WAAD. In the heterogeneous and complicated infrastructure, which is characteristic of most medium-to-large enterprises, this is a challenging task. You must rationalize your identity silos—and that’s where virtualization comes in.

Learn How To:

  • Create a single, rationalized view of all your identities, using an federated identity layer based on virtualization to normalize across multiple domains/forests and even other identity silos such as databases and non-MS directories.
  • Extend authentication for ADFS to non-Microsoft security domains by leveraging standard federation protocols to extend ADFS so that identities stored outside of Microsoft can participate in WAAD-enabled SSO.

Webinar: Extend SSO and Federation for Your SiteMinder Portal Presentation

When you first deployed your SiteMinder portal, it was secure and easy to use. But business doesn’t stand still—your portal has grown and changed, and it’s getting tougher to extend SSO to new populations (even with federation), refine authorization policy, or expand portal access. For SiteMinder to work its magic at the security layer, it needs access to a coherent, logical, and comprehensive identity system. But there’s an ongoing need to integrate new user populations, groups, and applications—and managing this heterogeneous identity layer is beyond SiteMinder’s scope. Your portal’s evolution is hindered by the increasing complexity of today’s identity infrastructures—and the mounting costs of making changes.

A federated identity service rationalizes your infrastructure, giving SiteMinder a single virtual identity access point. This virtualization layer shields your portal from backend complexity, delivering a unified view of identity at the portal level and enabling custom authentication at the local internal level—without the risk, hassle, and expense of custom coding. This webinar will explore how a federated identity service based on virtualization allows enterprises to leverage existing identity stores and unify profiles across security domains to support federation, extend SSO, and enrich authorization policies. Radiant Logic’s Elle Griffin will explore how virtualization enables your portal to grow with your business, while Coreblox President Todd Clayton will offer insight based on real-life customer deployments.

Webinar: Bridging On-Premise Identities with Web-Based and Cloud Applications Presentation

Gone are the days when your identity infrastructure—and your applications—were securely stored behind your firewall. Going forward, every application you deploy will be web-based—so that means the population you reach could be inside their cubicle, or across the world, and the cloud environment will boost this demand even more. Meanwhile, your customers and employees don’t care where their identities are stored—they want one authentication system, and one single sign-on. But it’s hard to harness the cloud’s advantages—let alone offer SSO— when your identities are scattered across multiple Active Directory domains and forests, databases, and applications. You need an identity hub to federate securely and grant access to web and cloud-based applications, but the critical question is where to host it. If you’re starting from scratch with a greenfield deployment, it makes sense for identity to be hosted in the cloud, but that’s not the case for modern enterprises with extensive investments in on-premises repositories.

Gartner’s Mark Diodati will consider on-premises identity management versus hosted solutions, and look at a variety of use cases for identity bridges. Elle Griffin of Radiant Logic will discuss why deploying a federated identity service is an important step for rationalizing and managing a chaotic identity infrastructure behind the firewall, while also enabling a secure connection to cloud and federated applications.

Delivering a Context Service through Virtualization: In this second of two webinars, Radiant Logic’s Elle Griffin and Kuppinger-Cole analyst Dave Kearns will explore how a context service provides enhanced segmentation and personalization, better customer service, and quick ROI for both security and CDI initiatives. But what is context, and how do you extract it from existing application silos and represent it in a uniform way? We’ll see how model-driven virtualization is the technology at the heart of an identity and context service. Building a global data model supports smarter integration and synchronization, while avoiding custom-coded, one-off solutions. Hierarchical or graph–based organization within the model reveals how objects are related, allowing you to see contextual information across many data silos.

Delivering an Identity Service through Virtualization: In the first of two webinars, Radiant Logic’s Lauren Selby and Kuppinger-Cole analyst Dave Kearns will explore what we can learn from existing directory deployments, as well as the virtualization technology that can renew and revitalize the identity infrastructure. The directory introduced key capabilities that we can’t abandon, but its centralized and rigid system of identity doesn’t match the needs of today’s applications. Modern enterprises are scattered, distributed, and have a variety of locally-controlled authoritative sources—yet at the same time, many identity representations and their unique attributes are best managed locally, within these specialized sources.
