RADIANTONE VDS PROXY EDITION PERFORMANCE AND SCALABILITY

RadiantOne VDS offers the high-performance and availability of an LDAP v3 directory service combined with:

This combination of features and options ensures that VDS will perform and scale to almost any level required, while enabling administrators to respond quickly to potential issues.

    RADIANTONE VDS CACHE

RadiantOne VDS delivers data with up to 95% of the speed of the underlying source. When the underlying source's performance and availability is high, VDS delivers data quickly and efficiently with no performance enhancements necessary.

RadiantOne VDS can also cache information for scenarios that require greater performance than that of the underlying sources alone.

    VDS Dynamic Access

Memory Cache can be configured within the VDS by entry or query, depending on the complexity of the view designed and the performance enhancement needs of the individual data source. Query memory cache: Used for frequent repetitious queries such as frequently requested profiles or user account information. If the same query is made within the time-to-live (TTL), the query is returned from the memory cache instead of the underlying source. Entry memory cache: Object attributes and values are cached as queries are made, and if another request is made for the same entry within the TTL, the information will be returned from the memory cache instead of the underlying source.

 

    BUILT-IN FAIL-OVER

RadiantOne VDS automatically detects failures in backend sources and will re-route operations to alternate specified servers. Any change in status of connected resources are logged and service alerts are emailed to alert administrators.

    VDS REPLICATION

RadiantOne VDS has built-in instance replication. VDS configuration and local store data is automatically replicated into multiple instances for fail-over, fault-tolerance, and increased availability in distributed systems.

    LOAD BALANCING

RadiantOne VDS includes the RadiantOne LDAP Access Router. This software-based router monitors connected resources and can be configured for customized load-balancing scenarios, including fail-over of VDS or any other LDAP source.
